Hi everyone,

I’m running SMOKE v4.8.1 for the _othar_ sector using 2019 inventory data. The `smkinven`, `spcmat`, and `grdmat` show Normal Completion of program and generate log files in `intermed/`, but the **temporal allocation** step does not produce any intermediate log files. Why SMOKE skips this step and what should I do in order for SMOKE to run `temporal` for this sector?

Thank you.

Here’s a screenshot of my `intermed/logs/` directory showing only the three stages completed.

Based on the information provided it is difficult to determine the cause of the issue.
Can you please share your run script, the run\_settings.txt file, and a log of the run script output?

Thank you for sending these files. However, to diagnose this, we really need to see the standard output file – basically what is printed to the screen if you were to run the job interactively.

Thank you for the guidance.

I’ve now captured the standard output.

Could you please advise me why the temporal and smkmerge steps are not being executed, or if any additional information would be helpful.

Thanks so much again for your support.

After some debugging to understand why Temporal and Merge programs are not running, the problem seems to be in $RUNSCRIPTS/emf/smk\_ar\_monthly\_emf.csh. In this script, I commented out some lines for QA\_TYPE inv2a, QA\_TYPE inv2b, QA\_TYPE inv3, QA\_TYPE inv3b, QA\_TYPE inv2c (attached the file
[smk\_ar\_monthly\_emf.csh.txt](https://forum.cmascenter.org/uploads/short-url/mlvQP1KtnZQWiZl7rJkg0ZX7NhG.txt) (47.1 KB)
) and now I have outputs (ran Temporal and Merge) for jan and feb. Now, there is another error attached as
[stdout\_run\_2.txt](https://forum.cmascenter.org/uploads/short-url/4igtG8RJGlCiWK2VcWF5s6OVeJM.txt) (128.4 KB). Can you please help me how to resolve that? Thank you.

This is a timetracker-related issue that was addressed in later platforms. In your $INSTALL\_DIR/smoke4.8.1/scripts/run/ directory, you should replace timetracker\_v2.csh with the update pasted below and attached here.

```auto
#!/bin/tcsh -f
# Script to put date/time information about SMOKE to a file
# If file already exists, it will look for entries in the file
# Processing date
