Hi BH and Alison (@bbaek@eyth.alison) et al.,

I have two questions using NEI2016 v1 package downloaded from EPA:

1. Onroad\_mex\_part2\_combine
here is the error:

```auto
     Value for PROMPTFLAG not defined;returning default: TRUE
     Enter logical name for INPUT FILE [INFILE] >> INFILE :/storage/highspeed/JH/EMP_2016/newftp.epa.gov/air/emismod/2016/v1/2016emissions/2016fh_16j/premerged/onroad_mex/emis_mole_onroad_mex_20161211_12US2_cmaq_cb6_2016fh_16j.ncf
     >>--->> WARNING in subroutine OPEN3
     File not available.
```

detail in:

I noticed in run script

```auto
set indir = $PROJECT_ROOT/$CASE/premerged/${SECTOR}_cb6orig
set outdir = $PROJECT_ROOT/$CASE/premerged/${SECTOR}
setenv INFILE1 $indir/emis_mole_${SECTOR}_cb6orig_${BASE_YEAR}${da}_${GRID}_${SPC}_${CASE}.ncf
setenv OUTFILE $outdir/emis_mole_${SECTOR}_${BASE_YEAR}${da}_${GRID}_${SPC}_${CASE}.ncf
setenv INFILE $OUTFILE
setenv OUTFILE $INFILE.xt
$IOAPIDIR/m3xtract << eof
250000
eof
mv -f $OUTFILE $INFILE
```

just wonder should this be corrected as

```auto
setenv INFILE $INFILE1
setenv OUTFILE $INFILE.xt
```

1. SMOKE merge
I have all premerge files ready expect onroad\_mex, and then ran merge
the error is:

```auto
          gridded file.
not sure what the error is. should I try smoke4.6?
Any suggestion is helpful.
Best,
Joey
Dear Huangj1311:
This concerns the conversion of MOVES Mexico emissions (which are pre-speciated CB6-CAMx) to CB6-CMAQ using the combine utility.
Within that conversion script (Onroad\_mex\_part2\_combine ) there are two steps. The first step runs the combine
utility, and the second step is to run the output files back through m3xtract in order to make the output files more I/O API friendly (which the combine utility itself does not do).
It looks like the combine-terra.exe executable was not installed:
