# Preparing the input files for the MPAS component in the MPAS-CMAQ model

Hello!  
Recently, I have been trying to learn how to generate the static and init files for MPAS. This process requires using init\_atmosphere\_model, namelist.init\_atmosphere, and streams.init\_atmosphere. However, a major difference between MPAS and MPAS-CMAQ is that there are no executable files like init\_atmosphere\_model in MPAS-CMAQ. So, how can I create the necessary MPAS input files for MPAS-CMAQ, similar to the test files provided by the official documentation?

The current release of the MPAS-CMAQ tutorial does not support generating input files. Thank you for expressing an interest in these tools for a future release. The timeline and availability for supporting the public’s ability to generate input files is currently unknown.
