Hi,

I saw the following error while running onroad\_RPH for the year of 2019:

 ![Screenshot 2025-05-14 at 10.04.52 AM](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex027/uploads/cmas/original/2X/8/81ce0dece50c28eb73da68060b960ddcd0a1939c.jpeg)
Following the error message i checked the 1427 line of movesmrg.f:
 ![Screenshot 2025-05-14 at 10.02.01 AM](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex027/uploads/cmas/original/2X/9/9f16e5919d9204647a72b95d0c755a84b06fb413.png)
I checked the movesmrg\_RPH\_onroad.log and they all show: Normal completion.
However in the rep\_logs\_onroad\_2019ge\_cb6\_19k\_CONUS12\_all\_level1.csv file, there are errors:

> priority,known,count,message type,first file
> 0,False,1,‘ERROR: Grid cell temperature -41.18 out of range of minimum emission factor data -30.00’,/glade/derecho/scratch/hmao/SMOKE-4.8/2019ge\_cb6\_19k/intermed/onroad/RPH/logs/movesmrg\_RPH\_onroad\_jan\_2019ge\_cb6\_19k\_20190129\_CONUS12\_cmaq\_cb6ae7.log
> 0,False,1,‘ERROR: Grid cell temperature -22.38 out of range of minimum emission factor data -10.00’,/glade/derecho/scratch/hmao/SMOKE-4.8/2019ge\_cb6\_19k/intermed/onroad/RPH/logs/movesmrg\_RPH\_onroad\_jan\_2019ge\_cb6\_19k\_20190124\_CONUS12\_cmaq\_cb6ae7.log

I checked my run script and saw: setenv TEMP\_BUFFER\_BIN “10”. Is my run success? If not, what should i do to get rid of the error message.

Thanks,
Lin

We suspect that the segmentation fault is related to the temperature error – this can happen when using your own meteorology. Is your domain in a particularly cold area? We suggest increasing TEMP\_BUFFER\_BIN from 10 to 30 and see if that resolves the seg fault.

Thanks Alison,

Yes i am using my own meteorology. But my domain is the 12US1 domain. I increased TEMP\_BUFFER\_BIN to 30 and the segment fault and the “Grid cell temperature” are still there. Does this mean there is something wrong with my WRF simualtion?

Thanks,

Have you quality-assured the met-data? The temperatures seem very low.
