What is the difference between mtxcalc and IOAPI3.1 and Ioapi3.2?

Hello, Why did I successfully run mtxcalc in IOAPI3.1 in a few minutes, while the same process I did in Version 3.2 was running for more than a dozen hours and there’s no output?
