EQUATES Meteorology Performance Evaluation?

Dear CMAS Forum,

I am using the EQUATES 2019 emissions and meteorology platform, and I am looking for documentation about the model performance evaluation of the WRF inputs.

I can see on this EQUATES webpage that it says briefly how the WRF simulations were validated, with two included figures of precipitation mean bias, but I can’t find any technical support document with further information or statistics: EQUATES | US EPA

I also found the paired WRF-observation datasets that were used for evaluation on this page (under “Evaluation Datasets”), but the datasets only have paired data and no statistics: Data Download: Step 2 | US EPA

Would it be possible to share any documentation, published literature, or further figures/statistics describing the performance evaluation of the EQUATES meteorology inputs?

Thank you!

Hello Cara,

as far as I recall, there isn’t any technical support document or journal publication evaluating the EQUATES WRF simulations. The paired WRF-observation datasets you referenced are distributed with the intent of enabling users interested in the EQUATES WRF data to perform their own evaluation for their specific application.

Good luck in your research,

Christian
