How to use emissions from C1/2/3 commercial marine sources for other grids?

Hi,

I’m running SMOKE v5.1 and using the 2018v2 Emissions Modeling Platform for the customized 4km grid covering the southeastern US. My 4km grid uses the same Lambert projection centered on 40N 97W (aligns with 12US1).

I have successfully generated CMAQ-ready emission files for other point sectors, by modifying GRIDDESC and spatial surrogate data. However, the ones related to C1/2/3 commercial marine sources failed. I just realized that their original inventories are grid-specific and designed for the 12US1 grid.

My question is how to include emissions from C1/2/3 commercial marine sources for my 4km domain. Did I miss some useful regrid tools posted online?

Thanks for your help,
Jingting

Yes the 2018 CMV files are for 12km. There are not regridding tools because it has to be done using the source data which cannot be shared.

Can you share the grid description for your domain?

Thanks for your quick response, @eyth.alison !
Below is the grid description for my 4km domain:

‘LamCon_40N_97W’
2, 33.0D0, 45.D0,-97.D0,-97.D0, 40.D0

‘LamCon_40N_97W’, 528000.000, -1596000.000, 4000.000, 4000.000, 447, 405, 1

Can you please let us know what area of North America is covered by this domain?

We will review whether we have prepared emissions on a similar 4km domain.

Unfortunately it is a fair amount of work to process emissions for a new 4km grid.

An option is to just use the 12km emissions that are provided as hourly point sources an will still work with SMOKE.

Thank you, @eyth.alison!
My 4km domain covers 7 states in the southeast. I just solved this issue by trying the following steps:

  1. delete the incomplete intermediate files;
  2. require more memory and rerun the script.
