Can SMOKE read in MOVES4 emission rate output data?

Hi all, is it possible for SMOKE to read in emission rate output from MOVES4? I’m interesting in using SMOKE-MOVES to create onroad emission files using activity data and eftables like the ones used in the 2017 emismod platform here: https://gaftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2017/2017emissions/moves_eftables/.

Some of the activity are for future years and include vehicle/fuel type combinations not included in past versions of MOVES (e.g. heavy-duty electric vehicles).

Thanks for your help!

The 2021 emissions modeling platform was developed using MOVES4 and the ancillary data have been updated to include the new types.

Although we have not fully posted all of the data files for this platform yet as it is still under development,

there are folders with files you can get started with:

https://gaftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2021/2021emissions/draft/ has ancillary data, example scripts and activity data

https://gaftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2021/2021emissions/moves_eftables/ has emission factor tables for 2021

Thanks Alison! This is really helpful.

Is it possible to use these newer eftables (and activity data) in combination with the 2017 platform? That’s the version we’re using for all other sectors.

I’d also like to recreate this set of eftables for scenarios in future years (e.g. 2030, 2050). Is there documentation on how to do this? Ideally, I’d be able to rerun the same MOVES runs and just change the year.
