Does different OS version (for example: CentOS and Rockey; or Rocky8.6 and Rocky8.7) affect the CMAQ simulations?

Just as the title, I am wondering if different OS versions will affect the CMAQ modeling results? Anyone tested that before? Thanks a lot.

No.

On the other hand, CMAQ depends almost entirely upon “floating-point arithmetic”, which is always subject to round off error: even for a given computer system and compiler, just changing the compile-flags can/will change the results slightly.

CMAQ has been run successfully for three decades, across a broad range of OS and compiler combinations, with only the differences due to such round-off error.
