ISAM O3 attribution: direct transport and formation from transported precursors

Hi there,

I am using ISAM to quantify the contributions of emissions in upwind regions to downwind O3. I am wondering whether the output for each tag represents O3 from direct transport, or from the combined effect of all model processes (transport, chemistry, deposition, etc.)? If all processes are integrated, is there a way to separate the direct O3 transport from those formed during the transport pathway or locally from transported precursors?
Thanks, and look forward to replies!

Best,
Bessie

ISAM tracks the contributions through all model processes including transport. We also have the process analysis option available in CMAQ. Unfortunately, processes analysis tracks bulk concentrations from different model processes (chemistry, transport, etc.) But you could probably use the two different model options separately and then make some assumptions to get to what you are after.
