I was wondering if it is possible to process the local traffic emission inventory which has emission values at the road segment level via using SMOKE. If so, any guidance on the preparation of the data format would be highly appreciated.
Well, the link emissions processing was one of features in SMOKE a long time ago around version 2.0ish. However, it has not been used and tested since then due to the lack of demand. As of 3.0, the feature was not working properly, so it has been disabled temporarily. So the answer is Yes and No. If you use the older version of SMOKE like v2.0, it may work but not be guaranteed. The newer version won’t work with the link-level inventory at this point.
