System REquiremnt confirmaton

Hello ,

AM using windows Acer predator G3-572. INTER CORE I5 2,5 GHZ, RAM 8GB 64 bit processor.

I have installed Linux via virtual box.

Will i be able to run the CMAQ version5.2.1 for particulate matter simulation for 6 months data using the same system>?

What is the size of the modeling domain? Do you have meteorological data? Are you able to run WRF and MCIP on this system?

Itz meso scale.

Which model would you suggest the best for the simulation of pm 2.5.

I have tried to install 5.0.2 but since even 5.2.1 is available do you think that the latest would be the better?

Yes meteorological data and concentrations are available.
So I will have to run both.
Additional storage is available

Meteriological data is available.

here are various changes between CMAQ v5.0.2 and v5.2.1, and in general we recommend the latest version. Version 5.3 is expected to be released in a few months.
But I thought your question was whether it is feasible to run CMAQ on a single PC. The answer to that question does not change significantly between CMAQ versions. For a mesoscale simulation, we typically use multiple cores in a parallel computing environment. I am not a hardware expert, but the computing resource you describe may be inadequate to get simulations completed in a reasonable time frame.

You might first try installing the model and running the benchmark test case on our Southeastern US modeling domain, and see if you can get that to run.
