I’m using the temporal profiles from the 2022 modeling platform. After calculating monthly emissions for our 2023 EI, I noticed some emissions got zeroed out. Specifically, temporal profiles 784 and 1000 are all zeros, so any emissions processed with those become zero for every month. Why are these set to zero?
HI Farren, I don’t believe profile 784 is used in our platforms. 1000 is used quite a bit, but exclusively for sectors that use explicit daily or hourly inventories, such as CMV, fires, and livestock. This all zero monthly profile is to prevent SMOKE from filling in nonzero emissions on days/hours that are not explicitly listed in the daily/hourly inventory. There are also other mappings in the tref that use 1000, but don’t appear to be active SCCs so these are depreciated assignments.
