I am currently preparing CRACMM2-ready emissions using the EDGAR v8.1 emissions inventory, and I would like to generate GSPRO and GSREF files using SPECIATE/S2S.
Previously, I received CRACMM2 GSPRO and GSREF files prepared for the HTAP inventory. My understanding is that, for each HTAP sector, the speciation profiles were developed based on the relevant SCC profiles, with multiple SCC-based profiles combined or averaged as appropriate for the corresponding HTAP sector.
I would now like to apply a similar approach to EDGAR v8.1. However, I am having difficulty determining which SCC codes or SCC categories should be associated with each EDGAR v8.1 sector.
Is there an existing crosswalk or recommended mapping between EDGAR v8.1 sectors and SCC codes that can be used for SPECIATE/S2S processing?
If an official EDGAR-to-SCC crosswalk is not available, I would also greatly appreciate any guidance on how the SCCs should be selected for each EDGAR sector. In particular, I am interested in the methodology used to select representative SCC profiles when preparing sector-level GSPRO files for inventories such as HTAP.
My ultimate goal is to generate CRACMM2 GSPRO and GSREF files that are appropriate for the EDGAR v8.1 sector definitions.
Any relevant documentation, mapping tables, or examples would be very helpful.
