Whether there is a simulation mechanism for the greenhouse effect

Does CMAQ deal with CO2? For other greenhouse gases, such as O3, does the model deal with parts similar to the greenhouse effect?

CMAQ currently does not explicitly model CO2 distributions or its radiative impacts. There however are a few examples of CO2 modeling studies using CMAQ in the research community; see following for additional details:

Toward verifying fossil fuel CO2 emissions with the CMAQ model: Motivation, model description and initial simulation; https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10962247.2013.816642

CMAQ simulation of atmospheric CO2 concentration in East Asia: Comparison with GOSAT observations and ground measurements; Redirecting

There also has been some early work and testing on incorporating the effects of simulated O3 distributions on the long-wave radiation in the 2-way coupled WRF-CMAQ model, but that capability is not yet available in publicly released versions of CMAQ.

Note that meteorology is an input to CMAQ; modeling of the greenhouse effect is the responsibility of the meteorology model that creates this input.

Thank you very much for your answer. The impact of pollutants on radiation in the 2_way mode is what I care about.

Thank you for your answer, I understand
