Hello,
I am working on using the Windblown Dust Model within CMAQ to study to particulate matter emissions. I am using CMAQ version 5.2.1 and I would like to know if it is possible to have the CCTM not take into account any emissions besides those created inline by the windblown dust model?

This will be much more easily done using the new DESID functionality in CMAQv5.3, which will be released later this year.
In CMAQ v5.2.1, I believe the way to achieve this is to edit your GC, NR, and AE namelist files so that the emission surrogate (EMIS_SUR) field is blank for each species. You should also turn off biogenic emissions, sea-spray emissions, and lightning NO emissions using the appropriate environment variables in the run script.
This tutorial on adding a tracer species may be helpful in understanding how the namelists work.
Do we know yet when CMAQv5.3 will be released?
Also, I’ve spent some time experimenting with the suggested modifications to the namelist files. However, do those modifications preclude the need for an input emissions file from SMOKE?
