Build annual Inventory for WRF-Chem

hi all,
I want to build annual inventory for WRF_CHEM.
My plan :

  1. choose 2014v7.1 Platform to run 2014 test.
  2. use NEI trend data to scale 2014 inventory into every year data.
    does it sound ok?

What years are you trying to get to?

2000,2005,2010,2015.
besides, I find there is a folder /2014/v2/2014fd/reports/annual_gridded/, which contain the gridded data by sector.
could i use this data to scale directly?

hi eyth,
2000,2005,2010,2015.

Yes, that could be a reasonable approach. I don’t have familiarity with WRF-chem – not sure of what species you need. You would also need to map the scaling factors to the emissions modeling sectors used to 2014… Not sure how you are
handling fires for that model.

Thank u for your quickly reply.

do your group have any other year gridded data?

I posted some 2011 annual gridded data here:

ftp://newftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2011/v3platform/reports/2011el_and_2023el/annual_gridded/

That is all that we have.

hi again,
now i plan to derive hourly gridded inventory for modeling in 4 years (2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015) from 2014 annual gridded inventory (ftp://newftp.epa.gov/air/emismod/2014/v2/2014fd/reports/annual_gridded/).
my on-going steps are as follows:

  1. trend scale: scale 2014 grid data into 4 different years with NEI trend data.
  2. specification: from cb06 to cb05
  3. domain regrid: the initial grid is 12km. the resolution of 27 km is my goal.
  4. vertical allocation
  5. temporal allocation: annual time resolution to hourly resolution.

what problem i meet is to deal with the part of temporal allocation.
any suggestion?

There are some daily reports by state/sector and county-monthly reports for 2011 here:

ftp://newftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2011/v3platform/reports/2011ek_and_2017ek/

There are 2014 county monthly reports here:

ftp://newftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2014/v1/reports/

There are some temporal profile summary reports here:

ftp://newftp.epa.gov/Air/emismod/2011/v1platform/reports/temporal_profiles/

Best of luck…
