Hello,
I am modelling a built-in PFAS pollutant in the UK using CMAQ-PFAS (v5.3.2 GCC compiler).
The pollutant partitions between gas and aerosol. I’ve modelled a few days where I know there were hours with rainfall and without to test the wet deposition. The model is running without error.
Plots of the hourly average concentrations and dry deposition of both the gas and aerosol phases look reasonable, however the WETDEP1 results are quite odd, with some hours showing deposition close to the source (as expected) and others showing what appears to be cloud or precipitation rather than the pollutant, well away from the modelled source.
Is this type of behaviour expected for very low rate pollutant emissions? Or would there be some setting that is incorrectly defined in the run scripts? My run_cctm.csh script is based on that within the CMAQ-PFAS repo.
The only files I have edited are the namelist files to turn off reporting of all other pollutants in the DRYDEP and WETDEP1 files, and the EmissCtrl file to remove scaling rates to HF.
Many thanks
